Our Story

We believe that learning on the job is the most powerful way of transferring knowledge.

As we strive to make Washington State the aerospace and manufacturing hub of the world, our success will be dependent on the talent of our workforce. Washington State funded the creation of the Aerospace Machinist Joint Training Committee (DBA Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee or AJAC) in 2008 to address the talent development needs of Washington’s aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries.

AJAC is a statewide, nonprofit 501(c)(3) aerospace and advanced manufacturing registered apprenticeship program. AJAC is an industry-driven apprenticeship organization, founded on the belief that mastery occurs on the job. Through apprenticeship preparation, and registered apprenticeships for youth and adults, all people have the opportunity to earn competitive wages, find meaningful work and pursue lifelong learning.
